Ski tourism in Spain

For sure, a pleasant discovery for many will be the fact that sunny Spain is not only a great country for summer activities, but also an excellent place for winter tourism. Of course, the Spanish ski resorts are inferior in popularity to the Austrian, Swiss and French in the complexity of the slopes. But the beauty of landscapes, highly developed infrastructure and diverse leisure activities make winter holidays in Spain especially attractive.

Most of the ski centers in Spain are located in the Pyrenees. In the Catalan Pyrenees is the most prestigious – Baqueira-Beret. This resort is a favorite vacation spot of the Spanish royal family and the European aristocracy. 

Places such as Sierra Nevada in the province of Granada and Formigal in the mountains of Iberia are especially popular among experienced skiers. Excellent rooms in hotels and camping, excellent gear and equipment, modern ski lifts and cannons for snow, an excellent lighting system for ski tracks at night create ideal conditions for a good rest. And the presence of «black» tracks and areas for free riding, as well as educational gentle slopes and playgrounds makes these ski resorts especially attractive for visiting the whole family.
