From next year, new taxes will be introduced in Spain that will affect a wide range of areas.

Food: Basic goods such as butter, bread, milk, eggs, fruit and vegetables will again be subject to the standard VAT of 4%. For sunflower oil and pasta, the rate will increase from 5% to 7.5%.
Electricity: The reduced VAT of 10% for contracts up to 10 kW will be abolished, and the rate will return to 21%.
Waste: A mandatory tax on waste removal and recycling will be introduced. For households, this will cost an average of 165-200 euros per year.
E-cigarettes: Vape liquids and nicotine pouches will be taxed like traditional tobacco, which will lead to an increase in their cost.
Benefits and deductions: The tax deduction for the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of charging stations will be abolished. Deductions for energy-saving reforms in home renovations will also disappear. Savings: The capital gains tax for amounts over 300,000 euros will increase from 28% to 30%.

According to government estimates, these measures will increase budget revenues, but may significantly affect the level of citizens' spending.
